Nicholas Sutton Bell wrote and illustrated his first children’s book Mary the Tooth Fairy (Red Cygnet Press) upon his graduation from college. He fell in love with storytelling at a young age, raised on a healthy diet of comic books and film.
Since then he led a team of 75 artists creating chalkboards throughout Whole Foods Markets in the Northeast Region before working with The Lumineers to craft a vision for their merchandise, directing their animated “Submarines” music video.
He has continued to work as creative director for The Lumineers, collaborating on their film III that premiered at TIFF in 2019 and designing the visuals for tour materials as well as the band’s album cover.
Sutton has recently been directing music videos for musician Diana Demuth — a breakout talent slated to open for The Lumineers and Melissa Etheridge.
He believes a well-crafted narrative is the necessary foundation for any project.
